Speaker Bios

Dr. Sam Low

Samuel Low, DDS, MS received his Dental Degree and Master of Science degree in Periodontics from the University of Texas Dental Branch at Houston and a Masters degree in Education from the University of Florida. He is a Professor of Periodontology and Associate Dean at the College of Dentistry, University of Florida. He is also a Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology and associate faculty member of the L.D. Pankey Institute.Organized dentistry activities include past president of his affiliate and component dental association, and a member of both the Florida Dental Association and American Dental Association House of Delegates and a consultant for the American Dental Association. He is a member of Omicron Kappa Upsilon Dental Honorary Fraternity and a Fellow of the American College of Dentists. Dr. Low was honored as the Florida Dental Association’s "Dentist of the Year" and the Distinguished Alumnus of the University of Texas Dental School. He is a District III Trustee to the American Academy of Periodontology. Dr Low is Past-President of the Florida Dental Association and immediate past president of the American Academy of Periodontology.

Dr. Christopher J. Walinski
Dr. Christopher J. Walinski

Christopher J. Walinski, DDS has been an author, inventor and innovator in Laser Dentistry for almost two decades. His 2003 text on laser dentistry has been published in over ten languages. He is a Founding member of the American Academy of Oral Systemic Health, a Diplomate and Past-President of the World Congress of Minimally Invasive Dentistry, and is the only American representative on the Editorial Board for the Indian Society for Oral Laser Applications, based in Mumbai.

He was a founder of, and is the Executive Director of the World Clinical Laser Institute (WCLI), from which he has received Mastership certification, and has Laser Certifications through the Academy of Laser Dentistry. Dr. Walinski is the Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Laser Assisted Dentistry, and maintains a part-time private practice. He is Associate Professor and Director of Laser Dentistry at The University of Tennessee College of Dentistry and is a Visiting Professor at Harvard University and Taipei Medical University College of Oral Medicine, emphasizing dentistry using lasers and other technologies.

Rana Al-Falaki
Dr. Rana Al-Falaki

Dr. Rana Al-Falaki, MRD, has been a UK registered specialist in periodontics for over 10 years. She has been an undergraduate and post-graduate clinical lecturer, and a consultant at Barts and The London School of Medicine and Dentistry. Most of her time is now spent in specialist practice, as well as lecturing worldwide. She was the first UK periodontist to use lasers in her daily practice. She has a fellowship in Laser Dentistry and advanced certification in the use of WaterLase. She is conducting research on its applications and also lectures both in the UK and internationally on the subject and is pioneering its use in this field. She has published articles and presented research on the use of Er,Cr:YSGG laser, on both periodontology and peri-implantitis, is an honorary lecturer for Guys Dental School, University of London, a guest lecturer for the Laser MSc in Genoa University, a visiting professor to the Medical University of Taipei, a key opinion leader and laser trainer in the UK, and founder of the Global Periodontal Laser User Society.

Ki-Tae Koo DDS, MS, PhD
Ki-Tae Koo DDS, MS, PhD

Ki-Tae Koo DDS, MS, PhD. received his Dental Degree at Yonsei University in Seoul, Korea. He then obtained his Master of Science degree in Oral Biology from Temple University in 2003. During this time he also received advanced training in periodontology. In 2007, Dr. Koo received his Doctorate in Periodontology from Yonsei University in 2007. He is currently an associate professor and program director at the School of Dentistry, Seoul National University as well as the former Assistant Dean of Academic Affairs. Additionally, Dr. Koo serves as an adjunct professor at Georgia Regents University. He has numerous clinical publications in various reference journals and continues to conduct research in areas such as: bone biomaterials, periodontal wound healing, and craniofacial tissue engineering.

Linda Murzyn-Dantzer
Dr. Linda Murzyn-Dantzer

Dr. Linda Murzyn-Dantzer was a dental hygienist for eleven years before receiving her dental degree from Harvard. She then pursued a Master’s degree and Certificate in Pediatric Dentistry at The University of Michigan. In 2004 she moved to Colorado to raise her family. Dr. Murzyn-Dantzer is an Assistant Professor at the University of Colorado and attending faculty at Children’s Hospital Colorado where she is involved in all aspects of teaching for the pediatric dental residents.

She is Director of Clinical IT Applications for the Department of Pediatric Dentistry and the Medical Laser Safety Officer for Children’s Hospital Colorado. Dr. Murzyn-Dantzer is a diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry and a member of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry. She is also a Fellow of the Academy of Laser Dentistry and has achieved Mastership Certification with the World Clinical Laser Institute. Dr. Murzyn-Dantzer’s professional interests include preventive oral health and laser dentistry with a focus on feeding/nursing issues and frenotomies.

Dr. Clive Fung
Dr. Clive Fung

Dr Clive, Fung Kin Yue graduated from the University of Hong Kong and obtained his Master degree and specialist training in Periodontology in the same University. Subsequently, he has granted the Fellowship in College of Dental Surgeon of Hong Kong in Periodontology, Fellowship in the Academy of Medicine of Singapore in Periodontology and the Membership of the Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons in Periodontology. He is now working in his private office called the Gum & Implant Center specialized in periodontal treatment, implant reconstruction and management of the peri-implant complication. For the past twenty years, he also has been appointed as a part-time clinical lecturer in Periodontology, University of Hong Kong and is now supervising the postgraduate clinic. In addition, he is the Honorary Consultant in Periodontology of the HK Sanatorium and Hospital. He also is the council member of the Specialty Board of Periodontology in Hong Kong as one of the trainer and examiner. And he is the President of the Hong Kong Society of Periodontology and Implant Dentistry.

Dr. Yue Weng Cheu
Dr. Yue Weng Cheu

Dr. Yue Weng Cheu completed his BDS degree at the National University of Singapore and was awarded The Pierre Fauchard Academy Foundation Annual Scholarship Award. He was elected Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons, Fellow of the International College of Dentists, Fellow of International Congress of Oral Implantologists, Fellow of the World Clinical Laser Institute. He is also a Member of the Joint Dental Faculties of the Royal College of Surgeons, England. An ISCD-Certified International CEREC trainer (Paris 2010, Istanbul 2012 and Barcelona 2014). He has also obtained his Certificate of Oral Implantology from Frankfurt University. He has also completed the full TMD continuum at Occlusion Connections under the tutelage of Dr Clayton Chan. Dr Yue has been lecturing and conducting hands-on courses on Clinical Digital Photography, CAD-CAM, Laser Dentistry and TMD. He is the Clinical Director of DP Dental and his six-chair practice focusing on integrated utilization of advanced dental technology such as Laser, CAD-CAM and 3D jaw tracking and imaging to enhance diagnostic and therapeutic outcomes for his patients.

Dr. Yi-Hao Huang
Dr. Yi-Hao Huang

Dr. Yi-Hao Huang is the Director of Dr. Huang's Periodontology and Dental Implant Specialty Clinic, a part-time clinical instructor at National Taiwan University Hospital, Department of Periodontology, Taipei, Taiwan. He belongs to the scientific staff of the Laboratory for Applied Periodontal & Craniofacial Regeneration, Medical College of Georgia, Augusta, Georgia, USA since 2004. Dr. Huang is an officer of administrative commitees for Taipei Congress of Oral Implantologists (TCOI).

Dr. Yi-Hao Huang received his DDS from Kaohsiung Medical University Dental School, Kaohsiung, Taiwan (1997) and an MS in Oral Biology from Temple University, Philadelphia, PA, USA (2003). He also received certification for advanced training in Periodontology at Temple University School of Dentistry in 2003. Dr. Yi-Hao Huang focuses his research on tissue engineering evaluating applications of bone morphogenetic proteins for implant dentistry within the Laboratory for Applied Periodontal and Craniofacial Regeneration, National Defense Medical Center and National Taiwan University Hospital. He gives lectures frequently in great China region focusing dental implant and laser dentistry.

Stanley Y. Yasuhiro, DDS
Stanley Y. Yasuhiro, DDS

Stanley Y. Yasuhiro, DDS has been practicing general dentistry for 32 years, and is currently practicing in Guam, Marianas Islands. He has been a Biolase laser dentist for 15 years, using the Millennium, MD and the iPlus. He was trained as a Biolase laser field service technician initially in 2000, then recertified in 2005, and just recently recertified again in 2015. A graduate of Marquette University School of Dentistry in 1983, he received the Pierre Fauchard Academy Award.

Jurisdictions to practice dentistry include the states of Wisconsin and California, and Guam. In Guam, he was a member of the Guam Board of Examiners for Dentistry, and later became chairman of GBED for 3 years, also the dental director for Ayuda Foundation, two term President for Guam Dental Society, the National Liaison for GDS for over 15 years. He is a member of American Dental Association, FDI, Asia Pacific Regional Organization, Guam Dental Society, and past member of Guam Board of Examiners for Dentistry.

Interests in dentistry include Occulsal Rehabilitation, Full Mouth Reconstruction, Dental Implants Surgery and Prosthetics, TMD treatment and Laser Dentistry. He has lectured on prosthetics and laser dentistry in Hawaii and Japan.
